Hang Tight, Hero — Bones Like Snowflakes
No words can fully say how much I love this song. I couldn’t really articulate why when I listened to it a few times. But I get it now.
I’m a person susceptible to feeling lonely, sometimes for no real reason at all. And this song just makes me feel like that’s O.K. There is no judgment, no rousing speech to inspire me to feel better. It’s just comforting, and welcoming, and it just tells me that it’s O.K. to feel sad sometimes. It’s not a hug or a kiss. It’s a pat on the back, a small smile, a held hand, and it’s a wonder to me how a song without words can make me feel like everything will, in fact, be just fine.
“Pudge, what you must understand about me is that I am a deeply unhappy person.”
(A link to their EP, Rewriting Icarus, on Bandcamp, if you are so inclined. This song is just really something else.)

Michael Jackson - I Just Can’t Stop Loving You
i just downloaded the whole Michael Jackson Discography and now i’m reviewing my MJ history. i can’t believe how much of my childhood was dedicated to listening to MJ. i used to dream of seeing him live and fainting in the crowd and stuff. i wanted to be his backup dancer. i was jealous of Gary V because he can dance like MJ. i remember having a double-tape (!) copy of HIStory and dancing to it all day and all night. i remember memorizing the lyrics to Man In The Mirror because i loved it so much. i love MJ so much.
and he, of all the MJ’s in my life, led me to believe that the initials MJ contain some sort of magic in them.
MJ’s the only good thing left of my childhood (ironically). and Earth, Wind, and Fire.
i just can’t stop loving you, MJ.
